Don't Know Where To Start
Good to have you back Ozzie.i too have found inspirtation to not only live but take care of myself.I just got back from the Beale street music festival in Memphis. It was my first time there and except for the shitty weather it was perfect. This festival surpassed anything that i've ever experienced or could imagine..No bad weather short of something as extreme as a tornado could stop the action because of the layout and intense party atmosphere of the people. The festival itself occurred in a long thin park along the bank of the Mississippi river at the end of Beale street. The concerts were continuous all weekend long on four stages with hip hop,r&b,all kinds of rock and of course blues.A conservative guess at the number of people in attendance at peak times would be around a hundred thousand. As i said the park itself was thin.i wish i would have stepped it off. I doubt if it was a hundred yards wide.At any rate with the sound stages, equipment vendors tents etc. it made for a continuos crowd jam.Just stand still pick a butt and fall in behind it:you will get it no matter who shes with.Generally i consider all badge carrying types pigs but these cops (and there were many)were exceptionally cool. You'd have to really try to get busted. The festival shuts down at around one a.m.Unfortunately the only night that it wasn't pouring rain was the first. The vast majority stayed to the end all leaving at once causing monstrous bottle necks at the gate.then again at the entrance to beale street which was blocked off.THe cops were checking ID's .Personally every time i'd get ready to finally exit the park or enter Beale street i'd remember something i forgot and have to go back and get it and start over.Took me a long time to finally exit the park and enter the club area on Beale.HA! HA!
Gentlemen as good as this was and it was GOOD! even on the rainy nights, it was only a small sample, forplay if you will, of the real action that occurred during the concerts and at the clubs.I just got home .I'm still in shock and i get a bit overwhelmed when i think of all that went down.
J from C needs to get out more often.I've twice overheard bouncers talking about catching people fucking in my favorite hometown club and its in a small conservative city and they keep it lit up like Chritmas.
I'll try to get some stories out as i recover.
