I agree the knee-jerk response (and the politically correct response) from women would be negative. But is it possible to design a smarter survey that would get beneath the surface? Like --

Whenever a man rubs up against you in a crowded place, you --

A) swing around and give him a dirty look
B) move away noticeably and wait for his next move because you are curious
C) check him out to decide whether some physical contact might be enjoyable
D) rub against him actively
E) wait until the rubbing gets intolerable before turning around and saying "excuse me"
F) any of the above, depending on the situation and your mood

I know executing a survey like this would be a tall order, but it would provide the first somewhat scientific assessment of women's attitudes towards chikaning. But if the survey is done on the internet, we might get a few dozen honest meaningful responses that go beyond the politically correct "oh my lord, these people are such perverts."

Then again, those who do respond to this kind of a survey could well be a self-selected sample -- women who are interested in chikans. But there might be some value even to that.

Just brainstorming, that;s all. The idea might go nowhere.
