'Molester' killed by train

AFTER wiggling free of guards, a man who allegedly groped a female passenger jumped off a crowded train platform and was promptly hit and killed by an oncoming train today.

Yujiro Sano, a 32-year-old part-time worker, had been apprehended moments earlier by male passengers after the woman complained about being molested.

Security guards were leading Sano away for questioning when he bolted onto the tracks at one of Tokyo's busiest stations, a police officer said.

The ill-fated escape delayed dozens of other trains for more than one hour, affecting about 62,000 commuters during the morning rush hour, East Japan Railway Co said.

Sano allegedly fondled the woman on another train that had earlier pulled into the station.
