RE: Bertoldt Brecht ( Points to ponder )
1.Rich people in Venezuela: 80% of the wealth is concentrated in 20 % of the people. Venezuela has 24 million people. Although Venezuela is oil rich, the profit that this country has made from selling oil has been stolen over more than 40 years of corruption and mismanagement of big oil corporations. Managers of corporations were never cost conscious because they believed that the oil bonanza will last forever.
2. Are girls of slums clean ?. Let?s say that times have change since the AIDS virus became a serious threat in Venezuela. The government did a formal campaign to instruct women and men about been clean and to use condoms, specially those women who work as prostitutes. So Women of the year 2006 are cleaner than women of 20 years ago.
3.Serfs and masters. You are right. It is not funny to treat the maids as servants who do not have other choice than letting the master grope them. It sounds cruel and insensitive. In the era of slavery of Venezuela before 1850, any master who wanted to get laid with a beautiful slave girl would have raped her and there were no laws to protect those girls.
Let?s say that , I don?t grope maids any more since many years ago. When I groped the maids of my story I was a 16 year-old-boy, and I didn?t have experience. I was just playing a game. One day a young maid gave me an early warning that his boyfriend was a police. One day I accidentally saw her talking to him in a police patrol. I stopped groping her.
Times have change. Nowadays we have a new government office where maids and any women can complain about sexual harassment in the work place.
