tks for thoughtful comments. i know about frotteurism, not from my doctor but from research.

psychology & psychoanalysis, like any other science, is subject to the prevailing dogma of the day (just ask Einstein). Freud based the entire field of psychoanalysis on sexuality, which is questionable in the first place. I also sense the prevailing tedency to invent a word (usually Greek, Latin, or French -based) to describe anything that's not "normal", then come up with a cure or "treatment".

I wonder if frotteurism - the soft, gentle & consensual kind - is more like a "bad habit" than a "symptom", "condition" or a "disease". Certainly smoking is more harmful to yourself and others than consensual frotterism, yet it's considered just a "bad habit".

Does consensual frotteurism lead to sexual crimes such as rape? I'll go with that if you agree that smoking leads to drug trafficking, playing (American) football leads to mugging, and boys growing up to be men leads to war.

i regret having this bad habit like any other bad habit - I wish I would kick it - the rest of the righteous world should relax before labeling us as potential criminals.

There is no moral judgement here - we are just discussing yet another one of human frailties.
