There have been a few recent postings here about "if someone is
interested in you, they brush up against you" or touch you in some way.

Women should be aware that sometimes there might be a more sinister plan
involved. It is called frotteurism. (according to the Diagnostic and
Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders - fourth edition, 1994).
"Frotteurism involves the touching or rubbing against a nonconsenting
person. The behavior usually occurs in crowded places. He rubs his
genitals against the victim's thighs and/or buttocks; while doing this
he usually fantasizes. Most acts of frottage occur when the person is
ages 15-25 years, after which there is a gradual decline in frequency"

The point is that this is a deliberate act perpetrated by a male and it
is usually very subtle. It doesn't happen by accident and it is for
sexual gradification. I wonder how many women have been a victim of
this; at a party, on a crowded subway car, narrow hallways, busy
sidewalks, etc.?

It's the type of crime (like "flashing") that happens so quickly that
you are left wondering if it really happened at all.
